STAGE DESIGN
SETTING MY IMAGINATION ON STAGE
Ever attend a Broadway play, acclaimed ballet, or performance of a famous opera? If so, you may have noticed the elaborate and amazing sets used to create a world in which the action occurs. The grander the performance, the more astounding the set, thanks to increased budgets from anticipated ticket sales and venues with an extensive supply of complex equipment. However, no amount of money or tools can replace the most essential aspect of set creation, the imaginative talents of a skilled designer in charge of the stage design process.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS!
AUTOMOBILE ON RED CARPET
As stage designer, I focus on bringing life to the places where the story transpires. I must identify each location, as well as if it changes over the course of a scene or when a new scene returns to a prior location. I also identify what props are specifically mentioned in a script or will be necessary for a scene to successfully occur.
LET'S COOK TOGETHER!
As scenic designer I work with director and other designers to establish an overall visual concept for the production and design the stage environment, team work that is responsible for developing a complete set of design drawings to execute the concept.
LET'S DISCUSS SMARTLY...
All the scenery, furniture and props the audience sees at a production of a play make up the set design. My role is to design these
physical surroundings in which the action will take place.
